Attorney Steve Stoesz is the lead criminal defense attorney at Stoesz & Stoesz, LLC. Mr. Stoesz has more than 20 years of criminal defense experience in Indiana courts, with a high success rate in jury trials. The respect with which he is regarded by the local legal community is illustrated by his appointment as public defender for three different criminal courts.

When you hire Stoesz & Stoesz as your criminal defense law firm, we will mount the strongest possible defense of your case. If we can negotiate a favorable plea bargain, then we will do so. However, if we believe that your best chance of success lies in taking your case in front of a jury - we have the kind of well-developed courtroom skills that increase your chances of a not-guilty verdict.

We have experience with the full variety of criminal charges, from DUIs/DWIs (also referred to in Indiana as OWI -- operating while intoxicated -- and OVWI -- operating a vehicle while intoxicated) or driving with a suspended license to homicide. We will consider all types of cases, including:

  • DUIs and drunk driving charges
  • Drug charges, including possession, distribution and manufacture
  • Rape
  • Sexual assault
  • Child molestation
  • Juvenile delinquency
  • Theft, robbery and burglary
  • Speeding tickets and other traffic offenses

Theft, Burglary, and Check Forging: Not Guilty Verdict

Our client was accused of breaking into a family member's house, stealing a checkbook, and writing bad checks to local merchants. Our client was videotaped in some of the stores at the time the bad checks were written. The case was tried in front of a jury, where attorney Steve Stoesz was able to obtain testimony showing that the case was not thoroughly investigated. The jury came back with a verdict of not guilty.

Speeding and Felony Resisting Arrest: Not Guilty Verdict

Our client was accused of resisting law enforcement for speeding away after being stopped by a police car. Despite a video recording of the high-speed chase and a witness's statement to the police naming our client as the driver of the car, attorney Steve Stoesz took our client's case before a jury. Based on his cross-examination of our client's girlfriend and Mr. Stoesz's closing argument, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty.
